Hero MotoCorp’s inaugurated its fourth production facility in our country. The new production plant is located at Neemrana, Rajasthan. The new manufacturing facility in Neemrana was inaugurated by Pawan Munjal, Hero MotoCorp Vice Chairman, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director. According to Munjal the new Hero production facility in Neemrana will play a key role in the country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer’s ambitious plan of surpassing the 100 million sales figure mark by 2020.
Apart from Neemrana, Hero has production facilities at Dharuhera, Gurgaon and Haridwar. The two-wheeler giant has invested Rs 1,050 crore so far in the new manufacturing plant at Neemrana and it has the capacity to churn out 750,000 units per year. The new facility has hiked Hero MotoCorp’s annual production 7.65 million per annum which it claims is the first step in achieving its target of producing 12 million two-wheelers a year. The Neemrana facility has been equipped to manufacture high performance bikes that are expected to be launched in the near future. Hero is also building manufacturing facilities at Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. It will also setup two new international production plants at Colombia and Bangladesh. At the inauguration ceremony Hero also announced that it will launch two new scooters in early 2015.
