Royal Enfield continues to be on a roll, posting impressive sales figures yet again in the month of February 2015, selling over 30,000 bikes.
In the domestic market, Royal Enfield sold 29,491 units in February 2015 as against 19,840 units in the same month last year. Exports too accounted for a 49 per cent growth, with sales of 749 units last month, compared to 503 units in the same month last year.
Royal Enfield continues to grow at a phenomenal pace and in calendar year 2014 posted the best ever sales of over 300,000 units. In 2015, the company plans to manufacture 450,000 units.
With a view to become the leader in the global mid-sized motorcycling, Royal Enfield will build two new technology centers. The larger one will be at a new 4.5 acre property on Old Mahabalipuram Road in Chennai, and will be operational by Q2 2016. A smaller satellite centre is being set up in Leicestershire, UK, and will be operational by the end of 2015. These technology centres will significantly enhance capability to execute Royal Enfield’s long term product strategy.
The company will be investing Rs 500 crores in 2015 in all strategic areas for long term growth, including capacity expansion, product development, frontline and backend.
