The luxury carmaker has registered a 25 per cent year-on-year growth in sales during the first half of 2014

Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The German carmaker has sold 4,717 units of its vehicles in the first six months of this financial year. The company has stated that its Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan, Mercedes-Benz ML-Class SUV, and the new generation cars (NGC) portfolio comprising the Mercedes-Benz A-Class and Mercedes-Benz B-Class have been significant contributors to this growth.

Commenting on the sales performance, Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, "The first six months of sales growth reaffirms Mercedes-Benz India's strong brand premium and competitive edge in terms of offering continuous product innovations...a benchmark production facility, extending an enriching after-sales experience and strengthening its qualitative network presence."

He also stated that the company has been able to achieve this sales growth despite the challenging market conditions. According to Kern, the company is set for yet another year of growth with its upcoming products lined up in the remaining two quarters including the much awaited Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class.

The company said, while the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class luxury sedans remain top sellers, the AMGs range continue to grow in the performance segment it created.
