GT1 to come to India
The Buddh International Circuit in New Delhi, India, will host the final round of the 2012 FIA GT1 World Championship

An announcement in winter declared the initial dates for the 2012 season including races in China, Argentina and most importantly the first ever world-class motor sport event in Russia.
Built for the FIA Formula One World Championship the Buddh International Circuit adds to an already impressive calendar of GT1. The final event of the 2012 season will take place on the weekend of 30 November to 2 December.
Constructed in 2010 by Hermann Tilke, the 5.138km track is highly technical and offers a range of challenges to the drivers’ and teams alike. The venue hosted its first Formula 1 race in last year.
"After having hosted a hugely successful F1 race at BIC last October, we are fully prepared for another successful international race. I am sure Indian motorsport fans would love it and India would soon acquire its rightful place in the world of high-speed motor racing," said Sameer Gaur, MD and CEO of Jaypee Sports International Limited

The FIA GT1 series commences on 8th April in France and will be accompanied by the FIA GT3 European Championship for rounds leading into July in Nogaro, Zolder, Navarra and Algarve. The FIA GT1 World travels to Beijing and Ordos in China and will later head to Russia. Both Championships then head to Zandvoort at the start of October, where the season ends for the European series and the GT1 World Championship will continue in Argentina and India.
