Two months after declaring bankruptcy, German manufacturer Horex has ceased all operations and services of all employees, including the management have been terminated

Horex concept

Horex is an old German company that ceased production more than half a century ago. Few people had even heard of the name when the rights to the name were purchased in 2010.

Revival plans for the Horex brand included production plans for a narrow angle, six cylinder supercharged engine. But the Horex project had a rough start, and was fraught with production delays and key design changes.

Eventually, what emerged was a naked bike, called the VR6 Roadster, but one with a 1218cc six-cylinder engine producing 163PS and 135Nm of torque. It wasn’t that the VR6 wasn’t received well, but at prices of over 28,000 Euros, or over Rs 20 lakh, there were few takers.

Now the company has posted a message on its Facebook page announcing the decision to cease operations and terminate all employees.

“With the removal of all employees, the company Horex, such as the founding team has built, ceased to exist,” the message said.
