Intended to be a replacement to the DB9, images of the upcoming Aston Martin DB11 supercar has been leaked ahead of its Geneva debut

Aston Martin DB11

If you have been following Aston Martin closely, you will know that the DB10 that we saw in the last James Bond movie, Spectre, was never meant for series production. It looked beautiful and futuristic, as all modern Astons do, but it was essentially a show car built for 007 to drive into lakes with. The DB11 then is the real-world successor to the DB9. And Aston Martin just can’t seem to be able to keep it under wraps.

After the rear end of the car was leaked online a few months ago, we now have an anonymous Twitter user posting the first photo of the front of the upcoming supercar. Not just that, examples of specification options for the new model can be seen attached to display boards in the background, if a bit blurrily. Aston Martin has already revealed that the DB11 will be powered by a brand-new 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12, which is thought to produce in the region of 600PS, thus putting it somewhere between the DB9 and the Vanquish in terms of outright power. Reports state that the V12 will be accompanied by AMG-sourced V8s.

From what we can see from the single image, the DB11 employs a much more traditional design aesthetic than the DB10's concept-car looks. Bigger, road-legal headlights and a more traditional Aston grille round out a beautifully sculpted hood. Where the DB10 was shark-nosed and aggressive, the DB11 looks traditional and profoundly powerful. It will fit right into the lineup, which can't quite be said for the DB10. Not to mention the DB11’s hood that actually opens, which is important.

Either way, we won’t have to wait long before Aston Martin lifts the covers off the new DB11, as its public debut is reportedly scheduled for March 1, at the Geneva Motor Show.
