While Suzuki is calling the iM-4 concept a mini 4x4, the design and dimensions hint at the next generation Wagon R

Suzuki has two major concept displays at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the first is the iK-2 hatchback concept that in production version will look like the YBA, and the second is this car – the iM-4 mini 4x4. The iM-4 despite its 4x4 credentials as a concept is nothing but a tall-boy hatchback on similar lines as the Wagon R and that makes us wonder if this car could well be the Wagon R replacement. Suzuki gives no such indications yet so we will have to wait and watch.

Suzuki is moving into its next era of three new platforms on which every car in their portfolio will be built. The iM-4 bears one of them. The iM-4 sits on 18 inch wheels and that accentuates its stance, giving the concept its SUV look. The upright front end dominated by the large grille encompassing the headlights and the rounded foglamps are smartly designed. The stubby rear is cohesively designed with the rest of the car.

Similar design touches to the iK-2 concept include blackened out A and B pillars but the rear three quarters going with its tall-boy design is upright instead of the steeply raked one in the iK-2.

The iM-4 measures just 3,693 mm x 1,709 mm x 1,566 mm (LxWxH), has a hybrid powertrain and a 4WD system. The mild hybrid incorporates an integrated starter generator and gets regenerative braking, at least in the concept.
