Lamborghini Huracan Spyder revealed

Lamborghini has finally pulled the wraps off its long-awaited new car – the Huracan Spyder at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

On the exterior front, the Huracan Spyder carries over most of the coupe’s design, but minus the metal roof. The Lamborghini Huracan Spyder receives a newly developed electrohydraulic soft top that opens and closes in 17 seconds at speeds of up to 50kmph. Customers have an option have to choose from black, brown and red hues for the fabric roof.

With the top down, the rear deck lid features two long fins that stretch from right behind the passenger compartment to the rear fascia, a styling cue that helps differentiate the Spyder from its coupe counterpart. The fins also direct additional cooling air into the engine bay. Additionally, buyers can choose from a palette of eleven paint colours and from several alloy wheel designs.

The interior is largely carried over from the Huracan coupe, though the Spyder boasts innovative ducts that reduce air turbulence in the cockpit, as well as removable lateral wind guards to reduce wind buffeting.

Lamborghini has not made any mechanical changes to the Huracan Spyder, meaning this car will continue to come equipped with a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 engine that delivers 610PS of power and 560Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that provides power to all the wheels via a new all-wheel drive system. This car is able to sprint from 0-100kmph in 3.4 seconds with a top-speed of 324kmph.

The Lamborghini Huracan Spyder is scheduled to go on sale in the international market in 2017.
