Frankfurt 2015: 2016 Bentley Bentayga SUV revealed

Bentley had kept the details of its new SUV – the 2016 Bentayga under wraps for a long time. The luxury carmaker tried to build hype around this new SUV by releasing a minute-long video which depicted its off-road prowess at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show. Bentley has now officially revealed this new SUV at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

This new SUV sports a prominent grille flanked by four round LED headlamps, chrome lined side skirting, a skid plate, dual exhaust system and a roof integrated spoiler.

Inside, this new SUV will feature real, handcrafted wood and metal trimmings and use of fine quality leather. This 2016 Bentley Bentayga will also receive panoramic sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 60GB hard drive, a removable 10.2-inch Android-based Bentley tablet with 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth for the rear passengers, three available audio systems, including a 1,950 Watt unit from Naim with 18 speakers, and a flurry of other standard and optional features.

A 6.0-litre W12 petrol engine that churns out 600PS of power at 6,000rpm and 900Nm of torque from 1,250rpm to 4,500rpm runs under the hood of the Bentayga. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. This new SUV is capable of accelerating from 0-100kmph in a claimed 4.1 seconds with a top-speed of 301kmph.

The SUV also comes equipped with Bentley’s Drive Dynamics Mode as standard, with an optional Responsive Off-Road Setting, offering up to eight driving modes, plus a computer-controlled, adjustable air springs with four ride heights, and many electric aids such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go, Predictive ACC, Traffic Assist and Park Assist.

The Bentley Bentayga will go on sale officially in the international market immediately and is expected to reach the Indian shores in 2016.
