The boom in the Indian car market has left manufacturers critically short of service facilities to match their sales, leaving them keen to launch more service facilities to tend to their customers.

Ford India’s attempt at improving their service facilities comes in the form of their new Quick Lane service facility that made its debut at Metro Ford, Bangalore.

Quick Lane service centres focus on two aspects, namely, ‘No appointment necessary’ and ‘While you wait’. Those who avail of the Quick Lane service facility can drive in at any time of the day for routine services and light repair jobs, and can see their vehicle being serviced.

“Ford with a commitment of going further to enrich the lives of customers across India. We're taking customer service to the next level, and the new Quick Lane service centre is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the customer service experience with trust, speed and transparency," said PK Umashankar, Vice President, Customer Service Operations, Ford India.

Quick Lane service centres will cater to oil and filter changes, brake systems, tyres, suspension systems, exhaust systems, tune-ups and alignments besides  customer oriented conveniences like extended working hours on weekdays and Saturdays.

The Ford Quick Lane service concept will indeed save customers time and effort for minor and regular service work and ensure that their cars are serviced by the company that makes them.

Ford India will bring in eight new vehicles by 2015 and is working at ramping up their service facilities to tend to their future customers as well as meeting requirements of its existing customer base. At present Ford India has 241 sales and service facilities across 127 Indian cities, that the American car maker intends to push to 500 by the end of 2015.
