At 2015 Shanghai Motor Show Honda premieres the Concept D Crossover, what could be a new SUV in the making

Honda Concept D, 2015 Shanghai Motor Show

If you think the Japanese are too conservative as far as designing their cars are concerned then you surely haven’t seen Honda’s new Concept D Crossover. Honda’s subsidiary in China, exhibited the World premiere of the Concept D at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show. The Japanese car maker first revealed a teaser image of the Concept D in March. Although the Concept D is still in its initial stages, it has the potential to become the base for a new SUV from the big H.

If you are the kind who loves the Transformers series and have a taste for futuristic designs, then the Honda Concept D will surely tickle your taste buds. The front-end with the massive chrome grille, the large bumper and the huge vents incorporated in the bumper looks ahead of its time. In profile, the massive wheel arches, the swooping roofline and the big wheels reflect its size. Interestingly, the Concept D ditches conventional ORVMs to give way to cameras. The C-Shaped LED taillights, the roof mounted spoiler and the humongous bumper with the air-breathers make it look ultramodern and rugged.

Honda claims that based on this concept, they will develop a new SUV that will initially go on sale just in the Chinese market. When launched the new SUV will be company’s flagship model and will come equipped with all kinds of advanced features and safety technologies.
