Nissan India has set up a new after-sales parts distribution centre (PDC) in India to continue improving its service to customers. This facility is the first and biggest of the additional PDCs that Nissan will establish in coming months. This new PDC is located at the Indospace SKCL Industrial Park in Sriperumbudur Taluk in Chennai.

Built over an extensive 4.8 lakh sq ft area, the facility is Nissan’s first and biggest of the additional PDCs and features a daily outbound volume of 2,800 lines per day compared to the previous facility’s 700 lines. The PDC will help supply spare parts to Nissan’s dealerships across India to ensure quicker and more efficient service, the carmaker has said.

Speaking at the inauguration, Kenichiro Yomura, President, Nissan India Operations, said, “Customer satisfaction is one of our key focus areas this fiscal year. Our new after-sales parts distribution centre reaffirms our commitment to our customers in India. Efficient supply of spare parts across our existing service network is imperative to complement our plan to increase our sales touchpoints.”

“Our plan is to have a hub-and-spoke parts distribution model. We will set up additional spare parts distribution centres in other locations in India in coming months, while Chennai will be the distribution hub,” he further added.

The spare parts facility will employ about 300 people and will be directly managed by Nissan Motor India with the support of Indospace, Yusen Logistics and Nippon Express.
