Fiskar Automotive has revealed a prototype electric sports sedan called the Atlantic, which is the Karma with some design changes

Fiskar Automotive has revealed their Atlantic prototype ahead of the New York Auto Show, which is a four-door electric sports sedan designed for the luxury sedan market.

The Atlantic prototype is the second generation of the company’s Karma that  uses the same ‘EVer Technology’ featured in the predecessor. The EVer Technology incorporates electric motors that drive the wheels of the vehicle while a turbocharged 2.0-litre, four-cylinder internal combustion engine can be ignited by the driver to charge the onboard lithium ion battery.

The vehicle can also be charged like a plug-in hybrid via a conventional plug point. The Fiskar Atlantic is a rear-wheel drive car, but an all-wheel drive version will be on offer as an option. Though electric, the Atlantic features a limited slip differential which makes it as sporty as an electric car can get.

The Atlantic looks much the same as the Karma except for a new grille, bigger power dome on the bonnet, new LED tail lights and the rear door handles are now integrated into the C-pillars.

“We are exceptionally proud of the Atlantic design prototype, and believe we have created another groundbreaking car that looks and will drive like nothing else on the road in this class,” said Henrik Fisker, co-founder, Executive Chairman, and Design Director of Fisker Automotive.
