The new Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid was put through its paces for the first time recently, over a total distance of more than 4,200km. The Cayenne S E-Hybrid on an average consumed just 17.8kmpl with the best result coming in as low as 71.4kmpl when it works in conjunction with the electric motor.

In addition to the Cayenne SE-Hybrid, the Panamera S E-Hybrid was also driven along the same routes. Thanks to its weight advantage, rear-wheel drive and lower wind resistance, the plug-in hybrid model of Porsche’s grand tourer also impressed with average fuel consumption of 71.4kmpl.

Both the models were driven along the routes in Frankfurt am Main through villages, country roads and on motorways, which in some parts has no speed limit. The Cayenne S E-Hybrid provides system power of 416PS and accelerates from 0- 100 kmph in just 5.9 seconds with a top-speed of 243 kmph.

Porsche has three plug-in models in its kitty including the new Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid, the Panamera S E-Hybrid and the 918 Spyder super sports.
