Fiat India will be undertaking another customer service initiative this weekend. Starting today till Sunday, Fiat is conducting free monsoon check up camps across 89 cities where the company has its 107 workshops. Fiat has prepared a 60 point check list for every car coming into workshops for their monsoon checks. These will include functioning headlights, tail lights, wipers, brake pads, brake discs and more.
Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and Managing Director, FIAT Chrysler India Operations said, “FIAT India is repeatedly taking efforts to reach out to its current and prospective customers with check up camps. The monsoon check up camp is one of the important after sales service activity conducted by us for the customers to ensure the safety of the vehicles during this season.”
FIAT will also offer a discount of 20 percent off on labour and 10 percent off on parts on work related to rain care checks. Considering Fiat is working hard to rebuild the trust Indians have lost in the Italian marquee, this is a good initiative.
It is important to get your car checked for the essential parts that you rely heavily on during monsoons. Visibility reduces in bad weather so headlights need to be functioning properly and for the car behind you too the tail lamps should be visible. A working set of wipers is the most important check. Ideally you should change your wiper blades just before the monsoon because the rubber tends to get hard through the summer and doesn’t clean the windscreen well. Lastly, brakes should be in perfect working condition as braking distances anyway increase when the road is slippery.
