After a successful collaboration in 2011, Skoda Auto India has decided to continue its association with Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2012 (PFMI). Apart from this, the three winners will be felicitated with brand-new Skoda cars. Skoda hasn't announced what cars it will be giving out to Miss India winners this year, though it could well be the recently launched Skoda Rapid. 2011's winners – Kanishta Dhankar, Ankita Shorey and Hasleen Kaur – were presented with the Fabia hatchback.
PFMI, now in its 48th year, is one of the most recognised national beauty pageants. It is a platform where opportunities, fame, style and glamour lie in abundance.
Operating in India since November 2001, Skoda currently has five models on sale in the country – Skoda Superb, Skoda Laura, Skoda Fabia, Skoda Yeti and the Skoda Rapid.
Despite being styled around the same platform as the Volkswagen Vento, the Rapid is a true Skoda in the making, and this becomes amply clear when its exterior body lines and curves are looked upon closely.
Starting at a price tag of Rs 6.75 lakh for the base petrol variant all the way up to Rs 9.19 lakh for the top-of-the-line diesel spec, the Rapid will come with both a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions.
