Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera bedazzled everyone present at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show as it unveiled its latest creation. The Berlinetta Lusso is the Italian coachbuilders latest offering based on the Ferrari F12. With its refined and smoother lines, the Berlinetta Lusso maintains the design ethos of the Ferrari F12 but takes it a notch higher in terms of the visual appeal quotient. At a glance, the Berlinetta Lusso looks almost identical to the Ferrari F12 but according to Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera the entire body has been custom built and is entirely new. The rear of the car has been completely redesigned with a clutter free layout whereas the new diffuser highlights the performance nature of the car. Car aficionados would also remember the Alfa Romeo 8C based Disco Volante which was a breathtaking creation from the folks at Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. Although Touring Superleggera is renowned for their aluminium craftsmanship, the bodywork combines aluminium and carbon fibre panels to save weight.
The interior of the car hasn’t been fiddled with in terms of design and layout, though, the combination of dark blue and cream white does gel well with the light blue exterior of the show car. All the Ferrari badges on the car have been removed thereby signifying that it’s a Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera exclusive. Mechanically the Berlinetta Lusso has been left unchanged as it is pretty much a Ferrari F12 underneath its luscious bodywork. Powering the car is 6.3-litre, naturally aspirated V12 motor belting out an impressive 740PS and 640Nm of torque which should make the Berlinetta Lusso no slouch with respect to performance. The Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera Berlinetta Lusso will be limited to just five units. Given the 5,000 man hours it took to create the above masterpiece, it won’t be cheap by any means of imagination, but all fine things in life come at a pretty hefty price.
