The latest Ducati motorcycle to be launched globally has been recalled owing to an incorrectly installed hub

Ducati XDiavel S

This bit of news will not please many Ducatisti. The Italian brand has recalled the XDiavel S cruiser motorcycle. The affected countries include North America, New Zealand and UK. According to Ducati the reason for the recall is an incorrectly installed hub which could result in the drive pins to fail owing to which there could be a loss of brakes and power from the engine. The above could result in the rider to crash and hence the motorcycle has been recalled. Ducati said it has notified its clients to visit the service centre to fix the above flaw and they wouldn’t be charged any money for the repair.

Bookings for the Ducati XDiavel S have started in India with deliveries expected to commence in August. The Ducati XDiavel S carries a sticker price of Rs 19.2 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). Beneath The cruiser motorcycle is powered by a 1,262cc mill with variable valve timing that makes 158PS of power and 129Nm of torque. It also features a launch control system that has been christened 'Ducati Power Launch' making the bike quick off the line. As for the transmission, the new XDiavel will be Ducati’s first bike with a final belt drive, which has been developed by the manufacturer for safe transmission at high torque. List of goodies include Ducati Safety Pack (Bosch cornering ABS + DTC), DPL (Ducati Power Launch), cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, backlit handlebar switches etc.
