In an official announcement Ducati has announced that it will take the wraps off its new motorcycle, the Scrambler, on September 30 at Intermot, Cologne. Known primarily for its sports bikes and an occasional cruiser and off-road machine, Ducati has been prepping a new Scrambler for a while now.
In fact, Ducati hasn’t always just been about the big superbikes, they have had a Scrambler as part of their line-up in the 1960s and ‘70s. The original Scrambler was a bare to the bone single cylinder motorcycle with engines ranging from 125cc to 450cc. These bikes were not only simple and cheap but also extremely easy to live with, quite diverse from the Ducatis we know today.
Ducati first confirmed the new Scrambler when it launched the first episode in a three-part series as a build up to the official declaration. The Italian motorcycle maker gave us a glimpse of the Scrambler too fans in a ‘secret room’ at the 2014 World Ducati Week earlier this year. And now, with the release of the third and final episode, Ducati has finally announced that its official unveil at Intermot.
Following the debut at Intermot this week, the Ducati Scrambler is expected to go on sale in the first half of 2015.
