Ducati has re-entered the Indian market with an official subsidiary, Ducati India Private Limited, headed by Ravi Avalur as Managing Director of the subsidiary.

Three dealerships have already been opened in Gurgaon, Delhi and Mumbai. The Gurgaon showroom is claimed to be Ducati’s largest showroom in their global network, indicating that the Italian brand is betting big in their second innings in India. A fourth dealership in Bangalore will be inaugurated soon.

These dealerships are the first to house Ducati’s new world-class service facilities. Ducati India is also currently identifying, confirming and training a network of highly qualified and enthusiastic dealers ready to offer the 2015 models in other key cities.

“Our intention was to open in India with an official Ducati presence only when we were absolutely ready. I can now confirm that our after-sales service centres will ensure exactly the same high standards achieved across Ducati’s global network,” said Ravi Avalur, Managing Director, Ducati India Pvt. Ltd.

The new dealerships will offer the Diavel, Hypermotard, Monster and Panigale models. The Ducati Scrambler and the Multistrada range will also be available within a month or so, Ducati officials said. All bikes will be CBUs, manufactured at the Ducati factory in Thailand’s Rayong district.

Ducati has yet to officially announce prices of the models, but the cheapest offering is expected to be the Scrambler with a sticker price of around Rs 6.4 lakh (ex-showroom Gurgaon). The Monster 795 will be available for around Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom Gurgaon). Ducati dealerships have already bagged as many as 70 bookings and test rides are also available at dealerships. Official prices will be announced in a day or two.
