It was a momentous occasion for Ducati as it rolled out its one millionth motorcycle. The distinction of being the one millionth Ducati motorcycle went to a Ducati Monster 1200 S. Well one million might sound as a small figure given the amount of motorcycles sold in our country on a monthly basis one has to factor in the fact that Ducati only concentrates in high displacement performance motorcycles.
The one millionth Ducati was handed over to its lucky owner, Cinisello Balsamo hailing from Milan and it was presented to him by Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali at an event in the Audi City Lab in Milan. The Ducati Monster 1200 S features a custom laser etched marking on the top handlebar bracket, signifying that it’s the one millionth Ducati to be manufactured. It has taken Ducati 68 years to cross the one millionth figure as production of Ducati motorcycles commenced in 1946 post the Second World War.
Speaking on the occasion, Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, said, “Our strength is in the exceptional work that all of the Ducati employees carry out so efficiently on a daily basis, contributing to making our bikes beautiful, unique and desirable. To deliver the millionth bike produced directly into the hands of a passionate Ducatista is an incredible feeling and an incentive to continue along our growth path.”
