December discount-bonanza on cars

December is that time of the year when car-sales slump due to the year model factor. A car bought in December this year will have a lesser resale value as compared to a January model in the coming year. However, for the same reason December is a time when car-makers offer heavy discounts on most of their models.

This gimmick seems to work well both for the automakers and the buyer for it's hard to separate Indians and discounts from each other. No doubt the companies caught hold of the right nerve of the Indian customer.

Starting as low as Rs 24,000 and maximum of Rs 60,000, Maruti is offering high savings on its cars—the Alto, the A-Star, the Estilo, the Wagon R, the Ritz and the SX4. Apart from the discounts, Maruti is also offering 3-year extended warranty, MGA worth Rs. 5,000, a gift cheque up to Rs 23,100, exchange bonus, free music system with USB MP3 player and 2 speakers plus corporate discounts.

Much like Maruti, Hyundai too is not far behind. With discounts ranging from Rs. 5,000-Rs 50,000 and savings of up to Rs 2,48,000 and Rs 5,95,000 on Accent and Verna respectively in addition to the corporate discount, Hyundai is offering other major discounts on its selective models. Cars like the Santro Xing, the i10, the Sonata and the i20 are on the discounted offer list for Hyundai.

In this run-of-the-mill race, Skoda is next. The models Fabia, Laura, Superb and Yeti are available on attractive discounts with free motor insurance and 2+2 years extended warranty plus a saving of up to Rs 70,000.

What's even more appealing is Honda's insurance at just Rs.1 with a saving of up to Rs. 40,000 on the Accord and the Civic. The City is available with an additional offer of corporate discount too and some cash discount too. Other cars that are available with attractive schemes are Ford’s Figo, the Fiesta and the Endeavour.

Different concessions are available with varied carmakers and their models in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. So if buying a car is on your list, this is the perfect time when you wouldn't mind spending in the lieu of discounted rates plus additional freebies and schemes.
