In under a year since it commenced operations in India and still in the process of stabilising its production lines, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles has rolled out its 5,000th truck from its Oragadam manufacturing facility in Chennai

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), under its Indian ‘BharatBenz’ name plate, kicked off production of its range of trucks in India at its Chennai manufacturing plant in June 2012. Following which the company went on to launch 3 models of its heavy duty trucks on September 26, 2012. In 2013 the company launched its Light/Medium duty range of trucks in February which was followed by the launch of its FUSO range of trucks in partnership with Japan-based Mitsubishi FUSO Truck and Bus Corporation, on May 23, 2013. 

In under a year since it commenced operations in India and still in the process of stabilising its production lines for its range of commercial vehicles, DICV has managed to hit the milestone of rolling out 5,000 units of its trucks.

The company currently produces the 2523, 3123, 2528, 914, 1214 & 1217 (Heavy, Medium/Light-duty rigid & tipper trucks) with several variants at its Oragadam manufacturing facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
