The Dacia Lodgy is a spacious seven-seater MPV that will make a good case for the Indian cab market with its diesel engine options

Dacia Lodgy

The Dacia Lodgy that recently debuted at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show makes a very good case for itself as a candidate for the Indian automobile market. The Lodgy is a seven-seater MPV designed to offer outstanding cabin space with an overall length of just 4.7m.

The Lodgy is tailored for families looking for a spacious, affordable and easy to use MPV. Needless to say, should the vehicle make it to India under the Renault badge (as planned for the Dacia Duster) the Lodgy will do extremely well in our cab market.

The MPV comes loaded with equipment and is targeted at being a good value for money proposition.

The Lodgy has four engine options, but the one we are interested in for India is the 1.5 dCI engine, available with two power output, a 91PS one and a more powerful 111PS version.

If the Dacia Lodgy makes it to India, it will compete against the likes of the Toyota Innova, the Mahindra Xylo and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3.

Dacia builds robust and well-equipped vehicles and the key to their success is the pricing of their vehicles. Their vehicles are built to be affordable and offer a good value for money product. Dacia aims to follow the same strategy here in India with their plans for the Duster SUV, which will be priced between Rs. 7 - 10 lakh. Rest assured, if the Dacia Logdy comes to India it will be priced competitively and make a good value for money proposition.
