The 2011 Tokyo Motor Show (Read : Special Coverage) held at a spanking new location on Odaiba island, known as the ‘Big Site’, was home to some very innovative and new designs this year. In its 42nd year, the show saw some of the biggest manufacturers of the industry participate in full force. Toyota, with its Daihatsu and Lexus subsidiaries, Suzuki, Mitsubishi and Honda were just a few among the many that set their show stands at the site.

Taking center stage were some very wacky concepts like the ‘Daihatsu Panel Van’, the Toyota ‘Digital Car’, and many others. Of course hybrids, electrics, and plugins from all major brands dominated most exhibits, and the show saw a perfect blend of futuristic concepts, coupled with some ready to go world premiers.

Those who take a keen liking to 2-wheelers were not disappointed either. Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda and others, showcased some of their latest production vehicles for the world, as well as some interesting concepts that will take biking to a whole new level.
