Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Edition

Hot Wheels model cars come in all shapes and sizes, including stock cars with shiny paint jobs, tuners with flame vinyls and the list goes on. These little scale models of some of the most attractive cars on the planet are the pride and joy of collectors.

Hot Wheels has now decided to make the first ever production model of the muscle car icon Camaro in collaboration with Chevrolet. The first batch of the Hot Wheels edition Chevrolet Camaro will arrive in the first quarter of 2013.

The Camaro Hot Wheels Edition will feature Chevy’s 6.2-litre small block V8 that will develop 438PS of power and 569Nm of torque when mated to a manual gearbox. Mated to an automatic gearbox the engine will produce 410PS of power and 556Nm of torque. In automatic trim, the engine will also feature Active Fuel Management that will shut off four cylinders under partial throttle to save petrol.

While firepower is new to Hot Wheels, all else is along the lines of what the company does best. The Camaro Hot Wheels edition will feature a Kinetic Blue paint job with unique graphics that will include trademark flame graphics on the fenders, dual tone matte hood graphic, a ground effects package consisting of a front splitter and rocker treatment and blackout graphics on the rear tail light panel.

The car will sport the iconic Hot Wheels logo on the grille and boot lid and will get the Camaro ZL1’s front grille and rear spoiler along with 20-inch black wheels to complete the styling package.

Inside, the black leather upholstery will be finished in red and black stitching with the Hot Wheels logo embroidered on the front seats. The door pads will feature the trademark Hot Wheels style flame decals, the door sills will be etched with ‘Hot Wheels Edition’ label and the floor mats will feature the Camaro logo with red edging.

When the Camaro was introduced in 1968, Hot Wheels had made sixteen 1:16 scale models of the car, that today are priceless collectors’ items. The full size Camaro Hot Wheels Edition is sure to become a future classic alongside other rare car models.
