BMW India associates with Magic Bus to help children

BMW India has taken a step forward to help the society through its corporate citizenship programme in partnership with Magic Bus, an Indian non-profit organisation. The programme that was started in 2011, has expanded to benefit 15,000 underprivileged children in the slums and villages of New Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai. 

Around 5,000 underprivileged children in Delhi, 5,000 in villages around BMW Plant in Chennai and Chennai city, and 5,000 kids in Mumbai have benefitted from the corporate citizenship programme initiated by the German car marque along with Magic Bus.

Through its ‘Sports for Development’ programme, Magic Bus gives children a life with better awareness, opportunities and skills in moving from ‘Childhood to Livelihood’ using a structured activity-based curriculum for a positive impact in children’s lives.

Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India, spoke of BMW’s commitment to society as part of its culture and corporate strategy. Through BMW’s partnership with Magic Bus, the luxury auto manufacturer aims to get actively involved in empowering underprivileged children build a better and brighter future.

The programme is based on the principle of ‘Helping People Help Themselves’, and emphasises on sustainability, measurability, transferability and long-term impact.
