Cars worth waiting for!

Topping our list is the hatchback version of Toyota’s first ever mass market sedan in India, the Toyota Etios Liva expected to launch with an estimated price of Rs. 4.5-6 lakh. With the Etios already proven to be a segment shaker, Toyota is expected to come with a car that has strict quality and reliability specifications, yet built to a price.

Carrying the same theme forward, the Liva will have the new Maruti Suzuki Swift as its prime rival, which is expected to come in the price bracket of Rs. 4-5.5 lakh. The new Swift may not look very different from the current offering (will come with the same engines), but it is an all-new car based on a lighter, sturdier and most importantly, larger base offering you more space and thrill.

Next up in the hatchback segment is the new global small car from Honda, the Brio. Based on the recently shown prototypes in Thailand, the Brio is expected to offer Honda’s smart approach of maximizing cabin space, albeit in its smallest package outside Japan yet. The hatch is expected to come at Rs. 4-5lakh.

In the luxury sedan segment, the Volkswagen Jetta will be quite different and fresher than the current model on sale and will be classier, roomier yet cheaper! The Jetta is expected to come in the price bracket of Rs 14-17 lakh. With more contemporary interiors and all-new exterior styling, the new car will come with the 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine as well as the 2.0-litre common rail diesel motor. So look out for these hot launches over the next three-four months, and you will have a car that will not get old as soon as you take the car from the dealer’s showroom. Happy buying!
