2 CommentsCustomers affected twice as price of removing sunfilm varies from Rs 300 to Rs 1200 depending on the model

The Supreme Court order on removal of sun films has created a double whammy for car customers. First they spent huge money putting up these accessories as mandated by the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) allowing 50-70 percent visibility on the glasses, but now are forced to remove them instantly. Forced by the police action across the country on removal of these sun films that do not comply with the court orders there has been long customer's beeline at car dealers and accessories shop owners.
The new service comes with a charge and customers have to shell out Rs 300 for the entry level models and going up to Rs 1,200 to get these removed from expensive sedans and sports luxury vehicles. Many car owners that have sun films that do not comply with Supreme Court orders are left with no choice but to abjectly get them off. "I had spent Rs 35,000 on putting up sun film on my new car as mandated by the motoring law. Now I am forced to get these removed. Again I am spending a huge amount as specialized services are required to prevent any damages on my Honda City," said Harish Sethi, who had put the films just three months back rues on frequent policy changes. Spend 1 hour and you can remove the tint / film by yourself. All you need is soap and water. Soak the tint with the soapy solution and it will peel off by itself. You can then remove the traces of glue on the glass with a blade or more soap solution.
