The Surrey-based carmaker had teased an outline of its P1 GTR hypercar earlier last month. McLaren has now released an official sketch of the car that reveals a few more details of the track-focused model ahead of its official debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance annual automotive charitable event held each year in Pebble Beach, California.

This limited-run model will go into production when the 375th and final example of the McLaren P1 has been completed. With no need to comply with road legislation, the Surrey-based carmaker is promoting its forthcoming McLaren P1 GTR as a car boasting even greater levels of performance, grip, aerodynamics and downforce than the road car.

The new car features race-proven slick tyres, a widened track and more aggressive and distinctive styling designed to offer optimised performance around a lap. The track-focused P1 GTR gets aggressive side skirts, a massive rear wing with a huge diffuser to increase downforce and two exhaust pipes at the centre of the rear panel.

A 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine powers the McLaren P1 and churns out over 900PS of power. The same engine unit will underpin the new McLaren P1 GTR, but to produce a staggering 1,000PS of power.

The McLaren P1 GTR will be priced approximately at Rs 20.2 crore (exclusive of taxes and duties), and will include a tailored programme created for each customer to build driver capability.

The Surrey-based carmaker hasn’t announced yet as to how many units of the car will be produced. The new track-focused model will be officially unveiled on August 15, 2014 at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event.
