Bosch’s Nashik plant that manufactures common-rail diesel injection equipment for the domestic and export market will get Rs 300 crore in 2012 to boost production. This is along the lines of the Rs 2,200 crore investment plan charted out for India by the company.

Since the 2012-13 Union Budget did not raise taxes on diesel vehicles, it has led car manufacturers to boost production capacity of their diesel plants. This will significantly ramp up demand from OEMs for diesel engines.

Leading mechanical and electrical equipment manufacturer Bosch is a big supplier of diesel engine components in India. It has to increase production of common-rail diesel engine equipment to meet the rising demands.

Production at the Nashik plant has gone up by 60 per cent for common-rail systems and 20 per cent for nozzle holders.

The plant’s production area will go up to 35,000 square metres. The new office building will accommodate 140 personnel. Over 400 personnel will be recruited as part of the expansion.

Gopikumar, Vice President, Commercial, Bosch said,  “Our commitment to Nashik is undisputed. We are playing a very important role in contributing towards meeting market demand of the Bosch Group in India.”
