BMW unveils two hot SUVs

BMW has released the details of its two new hot X5 and X6 M models.

Distinguished by the larger air-intakes and quad exhaust pipes at the rear, both models are powered by a newly developed 4.4-litre V8 high-performance engine delivering 555bhp. Peak torque of 501lb ft is available from 1500rpm and 5650rpm.

The new M TwinPower turbo engine is coupled with BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The result is acceleration of just 4.7 seconds to 62mph from standstill.

As with other M cars, the X5 M and X6 M feature the M Sport button to modify EDC (electronic differential control) and DSC (dynamic stability control) settings for optimised performance.
