As of the end of November, BMW sold 1,16,463 bikes, an increase of 7 per cent over the equivalent period of 2013. BMW had sold 1,15,215 bikes throughout the whole of 2013.
“Our shooting star is the R nine T, which has made it from zero to fourth place on our bestseller list as of November. We are also getting very positive market signals for our other four new motorshow presentations, the R1200R roadster, the sports touring bike R1200GS and the S1000XR in the new Adventure-Sport segment, as well as the mid range model F800R,” said Heiner Faust, BMW Motorrad Head of Sales and Marketing.
The sales numbers are largely on the back of solid growth in the European markets, Asia and US. There’s still a month left this year and BMW is also looking forward to even better growth prospects in 2015.
