BMW Motorrad has set a new record in the Bavarian motorcycle maker’s sales record, selling 16,544 motorcycles and maxi scooters to customers worldwide in April 2015.
A year ago, in April 2014, BMW Motorrad had sold 16,344 units. The increase is just 1.3 per cent, but April 2015 has become BMW Motorrad’s most successful month of sales in history.
“In April 2014 we already achieved an exceptionally good sales result with 16,344 units. So the yardstick for April 2015 was set very high. With a 1.3 % increase in sales we were able to surpass last year’s record. This makes April 2015 the best month of all time for BMW Motorrad. Our sales lie continuously above previous year’s in the first four months,” said Heiner Faust, BMW Motorrad Head of Sales and Marketing.
The record-breaking month is attributed to sales of the new R and S series – especially the new S1000RR and the flat-twin Roadster, the R1200R.
Also high on the sales list are the boxer models – the classic R nineT that was designed by Roland Sands, the R 1200 GS Adventure travel enduro and the R 1200 RT travel tourer.
