Bentley Grand Convertible concept unveiled

Bentley has pulled the wraps off its new concept – the Bentley Grand Convertible ahead of its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Dubbed by the carmaker to be the ‘ultimate expression of British automotive luxury’ and the ‘most sophisticated open-top car ever created by Bentley,’ this new concept previews the next-generation Azure.

The Bentley Grand Convertible concept is actually a Mulsanne convertible. The showcar features bespoke paintwork and a ‘liquid metal’ finish to the bonnet and windscreen frame on the outside and gets rid of its two doors while adopting a retractable soft top. The lux treatment continues inside with diamond quilted leather seats, complementary Sequin Blue accent stitching, and a wooden tonneau at the rear - the largest ever applied to a Bentley model.

Power is provided by a 6.75-litre V8 engine that churns out 530PS of power and a staggering 1,100Nm of torque. The British carmaker has remained tight-lipped on the performance specifications of the car,  but has noted that the new convertible will have ‘effortless performance to match its unparalleled style.’

Bentley has made it official that they are awaiting the customers’ response to this concept. The Grand Convertible, then, is likely to be put into production sometime next year.
