Bajaj Auto may have decided to discontinue three motorcycles from its Discover range – the Discover 100, the Discover 100M and Discover 125M.

All these three Discovers have been removed from the ‘Products’ section of the Bajaj Auto official website, indicating that a decision to remove them may have already been taken by the Pune-based two wheeler manufacturer.

That leaves only three entry-level bikes in Bajaj’s motorcycle line-up  – the CT100, the Platina 100 ES and the Discover 125. Bajaj will now have three Discover motorcycles on offer – the Discover 125, Discover 150S and Discover 150F.

Bajaj has always maintained that its Discover range of motorcycles is for the mass market, while the Pulsar range is targeted at the style- and performance-oriented buyer. And Bajaj’s mass market policy was just short of overkill – with so many Discovers and their variants, it even left some of us confused about which one has what features, leave alone the consumer.

But now it seems that Bajaj’s Discover policy may not be paying off so well after all, with most of the T, M and ST variants across the 100 and 125 range discontinued. And now with three more motorcycles seemingly getting the axe, Bajaj for now, seems to have trimmed down its ambitions with the Discover.

Instead, Bajaj will now target the mass market with the CT 100 and the Platina 100 ES. For consumers who desire a 125cc bike with good fuel economy, Bajaj will continue with the Discover 125, which was re-launched in July this year, with fuel economy claims of over 82kmpl.
