Bajaj Auto has released its FY14 results, and despite the decline in sales, net profit has improved marginally

Bajaj Auto has released its financial results for the year 2013-14. As per the release, Bajaj Auto registered a drop in sales compared to the last financial year. It managed to sell 38,70,077 units in the FY14 compared to 42,37,162 units in Fy13.  Even though sales witnessed a drop, the company managed to augment its turnover, which stands at Rs 20,856 crore, a marginal hike of Rs 57 crore.

From the recent monthly sales figure of Bajaj Auto, it was clear that sales in the domestic market have been sliding downwards.But one aspect that has been instrumental in Bajaj maintaining it sales numbers was its export division. Exports showcased positive growth, as Bajaj registered a growth of 18 per cent in the current financial year. Revenue from export rose from Rs 6,713 crore in FY13 to Rs 8,199 crore in FY14, which is an impressive growth of 22 per cent. Owing to these factors, Bajaj Auto clogged a net profit after tax of Rs 3,243 crore in FY13 in comparison to Rs 3,044 crore in FY14. 

KTM 390 Duke

Two-wheeler played a significant role in total sales figure as it contributed with close to 34 lakh units. The Pulsar brand in its 12th year has been still going for Bajaj, as alongwith the Avenger it registered sales of 6,49,000 units in domestic market. Owing to this performance, it has been able to maintain its dominance in the entry-level performance segment with 44 per cent market share. The Pulsar 200NS and Pulsar 220 registered healthy sales figure, as the company sold 74,000 units in the domestic market and exported 81,000 units. Bajaj owned premium motorcycle brand, KTM managed to sell 11,000 units in our country and it exported 24,000 units.
