While, most luxury car manufacturers in India refrain from talking numbers while stressing more on the superiority of their products as compared to the average automobile, German car maker Audi seems to be inching closer to its ambitious sales target of 8,000 units for 2012.

The brand with four rings has managed to sell a total of 850 cars in the month of October alone, which represents a massive 76 percent leap in terms of growth over the same period last year.

A slew of initiative all through the year, the most recent being ‘The Audi Women’s Power Drive’ and the Audi sportscar experience in Chennai are some among many initiatives that coupled with their celebrity association have gone a long way in making the Audi brand more lovable amongst owners and interested newer buyers.

Commenting on the company’s solid performance in the month of October, Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India said, “Our product offering, brand positioning and after sales services are finding resonance with discerning luxury customers in India. It is their aspiration for real luxury mobility that is fueling our growth.”

As we see it, more and more people are embracing the Audi way of life and to better cater to its constantly expanding customer base here in India, Audi plans to have at least 25 dealers pan-India and more importantly looks geared up to tackle any unfavourable market conditions like further weakening of Indian rupee, fuel price situation, pressure on retail credit etc.

Globally, Audi has delivered 1,097,540 cars to customers till September 2012. Overall, the Audi Group generated revenue of € 37.7 billion signifying a rise of 16.3 percent.
