Audi registers a growth of 10.5 per cent on a Y-o-Y basis in the month of January 2013 by selling 737 vehicles in the country

Audi reports sales of 737 vehicles in the first month of the 2013 calendar year thereby registering a growth of 10.5 per cent on a Year-on-Year basis over the corresponding period in 2012 when it sold 667 cars in the country. 

Audi has been aggressively chasing the sales figures of the leading luxury car maker BMW in India. In January 2013, Audi launched the 2013 Audi R8 and the 2013 Audi Q5 to bring its latest product range to its Indian customer base. The German luxury car giant also opened two new dealerships, one in Mumbai and the other in Lucknow in January 2013 to further its reach. 

“2012 was a rewarding year for Audi India in terms of product launches, dealership expansion and customer’s positive response. I am confident that our robust customer proposition will help us surpass targets yet again this year. Like the global market, Audi is at No. 2 and based on our current performance we are well on track to achieve the No. 1 position in the luxury car market in India by 2015”, said Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India. 

Audi currently sells 12 vehicles in India, namely, the Audi A4, A6, A7 Sportback, A8L, Q3, Q5, Q7, S4, RS5 Coupe, TT Coupe, R8 Coupe and the R8 Spyder. Prices for Audi vehicles in the country range between Rs 27.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the most affordable variant of the A4 to Rs 1.74 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) for the R8 V10 Spyder.
