Audi Prologue concept leaked

Penned under the guidance of Mark Lichte, who has been leading Audi's design team since February, the Audi Prologue concept has been fully revealed in the recent sketches that have surfaced online prior to the concept’s world premiere at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Aiming to preview the future new design language of the Ingolstadt-based carmaker, the Prologue concept is 5,100mm long, 1,950mm wide and 1,390mm high. The concept is reportedly based on the MLB Evo platform and features the brand’s single-frame grille with a much sharper design and thin angular LED headlights. The rear end is accented by thick C-pillars and aggressive horizontal tail lamps.

Reports suggest that the LA-bound showcar is actually previewing the future flagship for the German brand. It could be launched in 2017 as the Audi A9 and will likely be equipped with a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine with 600PS of power. The A9 concept will be positioned higher than Audi’s current flagship model, the A8, and is aimed at other top-end luxury cars,when it goes into production.
