After a long wait, Ford will finally bring in its full-blown SUV Endeavour to the Indian market tomorrow

The imposing dimensions and the butch design made the previous generation Ford Endeavour extremely popular among SUV lovers. However, due to limited sales the American carmaker pulled the car off the production line in mid-2015. But now, Ford seems to be ready with its all-new 2016 Endeavour which the company will launch tomorrow. 

 

Tested exhaustively in India and abroad, the new Ford Endeavour promises to be much better on and off the road. Based on the T6 platform, the new Endeavour comes with more space, features and equipment that have never been seen in this class of cars before. 

 

In terms of design, the 2016 Endeavour has the bulk of its predecessor but manages to look new-age. The massive chrome grille up front gives it a typically American SUV persona. The silver scuff plates that house the fog lamps and those massive six-spoke alloy wheels give it a much needed rugged personality. At the back, the silver scuff plates and the chrome above the registration plate dominate.

Aside from the a new platform and looks, the 2016 Endeavour will also come with two new engine options – a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder diesel and a 3.2-litre 5-cylinder diesel. The Endeavour churns out 160PS and 385Nm from the smaller 2.2-litre mill. This unit will go on sale with a manual transmission. The larger 3.2-litre mill makes 200PS and an impressive 470Nm. This trim will come with the AWD option and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

 

Expect Ford to price the 2016 Endeavour around the Rs 25 lakh mark. On its launch, the Endeavour will take on the likes of the successful Toyota Fortuner and the recently launch Chevrolet Trailblazer.
