Aditya Patel will race for Pro-handicap e.V

Having risen up the ranks very early on in his career as an amateur race car driver, Aditya Patel began racing when he was just 14 and after his JK Tyre National Racing Championship debut way back in 2001, Aditya has steadily progressed to more competitive international motorsport events like the VW Polo R Cup, the VW Scirocco R Cup in Germany (finished 5th overall) and was even picked recently by German car maker Audi for testing their R8 LMS prior to the start of the ADAC GT Masters season in Ocshersleben, Germany.

All that exposure so early on in his career as a professional race car driver has certainly borne fruit and seeing immense potential in this youngster, Audi has now signed a 3 year contract with Aditya, who will very soon become the first Indian driver to race in the prestigious 24 hours of Nürburgring.

With a confirmed seat in the challenging VLN endurance series soon to begin in Germany, Aditya Patel will race for Pro-handicap e.V, a highly experienced team renowned for the reliability of their Audi TT Coupe (sport model). Aditya has already successfully tested with them and will now participate in his first 4 hour endurance race on the 14th of April this year.

Commenting on the association, Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India said, “Audi has a rich history in international motorsport and has produced many greats over the years. The talent pool of race car drivers in India is growing rapidly and we plan to develop young racers by providing them with the right opportunities to make a career in international motorsport. Aditya is a talented racer and our support to him is a testament to that vision.”

With the support of all his long-term sponsors, this opportunity will give Aditya access to various international racing platforms in Audi performance models ranging from the newly (in India) launched Audi TT to the super sports car, the Audi R8.
