TVS Motor has started testing a new bike on Indian roads, which is possibly the 2016 version of the Apache and resembles the 250cc TVS Draken Concept displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo.
The next generation Apache test mule carries forward the same five-spoke alloy wheels, front mud guard design and petal discs that were seen on the Draken Concept. The rear view mirrors and the headlight cowl however, look similar to the Apache. The bike also gets split seats, like the Draken Concept.
The Draken is powered by a 250cc, liquid-cooled unit, which makes 39PS @ 12,000rpm and 23Nm @ 9,500rpm. And this one, the new Apache, could also sport an engine with displacement between 200-250cc. Unlike the Draken however, which sports an underbelly exhaust, the test mule is equipped with an upswept side mounted exhaust end can.
Expect a host of features on the upgraded Apache, like optional ABS, fat forks, monoshock suspension and a digital console with anaolog tachometer. The new Apache is expected to be launched later this year.
