Last month, thanks to some spy shots, we got a glimpse of the India-bound 2016 Toyota Innova. Now, the Japanese car maker has officially released a picture of the upcoming car prior to its global debut in Indonesia on November 23.
The images reveal that the 2016 Innova will sport an all-new design that is in sync with the rest of the Toyota lineup like the Camry and the Corolla Altis. The new for 2016 Innova gets a bold grille up front along with sharper fog lamps and a redesigned front bumper. If the teaser image is anything to go by, the 2016 Innova will come with projector type headlamps and LED Daytime Running Lamps. The rear too has been heavily remoulded to make it look new age.
On the inside, the Innova’s dashboard looks similar to the one on the recently launched Fortuner. The dual-tone dash is separated by a strip of faux wood. The centre console and the AC vents gets brushed aluminium surrounds.
The 2016 Toyota Innova will come in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol Innova will sport a 2.0-litre 16-valve DOHC unit that will make 139 horses of power and 184Nm of torque. The diesel on the other hand is an all-new engine. The Innova will be powered by the 2.4-litre GD series unit with a VNT intercooler. The engine makes 149PS and 360Nm in the automatic variant and 342Nm in the manual transmission variant. In India though, the 2016 Innova is expected to be launched only in the diesel variant.
The 2016 Toyota Innova will make its way to India towards the end of 2016 and is expected to be priced marginally higher than the current generation model.
