2016 Toyota Innova Details Revealed

The 2016 Toyota has already been making its presence felt on the internet. Spy shots of the car were making its rounds on the internet last month which was soon followed by a single teaser image released by Toyota. This time round though, the Japanese car maker has revealed all the details of the car with picture a week prior to its official debut in Indonesia on November 23. 

As seen in the first image released, the 2016 Innova follows the new design language from Toyota that we have already seen on the Corolla Altis and the Camry. The car gets a bold chrome grille up front flanked by horizontally stacked projector type headlights. The neatly carved out rear gets a large roof spoiler and boomerang shaped taillights. 

Toyota has also revealed the features that the 2016 Innova will come equipped with and we must say the list is pretty long. From a large 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with voice command, steering mounted controls, electronic climate control to Traction control, button start, ambient lighting, TFT Multi-information Display and more. The new Innova will also come with Miracast which mirrors connection for your smartphone through Wifi. 

As far as engine options are concerned, the 2016 Innova will come with petrol and diesel engine options in Indonesia. It gets a 2.0-litre petrol unit that puts out 137 horses and 183Nm of peak torque. The diesel mill churns 147 horses from an engine that displaces 2,393cc. The diesel engine will go on sale with a manual as well an automatic transmission variant. The manual transmission makes 342Nm while the automatic slightly more at 360Nm. In India though, like the current generation model, we expect only the diesel to be launched. 

The 2016 Toyota Innova will make its International debut on November 23 but in India we expect it to make its first appearance at the 2016 Auto Expo.
