Chevrolet has made a global unveil of the facelifted version of the Trailblazer sold in India at the ongoing 2016 Bangkok Motor Show. Although the facelifted variant will be launched soon in Thailand expect Chevrolet to introduce the facelift only after 2016 in India. The reason behind it being that the current generation Trailblazer was launched in October 2016 in India which makes it too soon for a facelift.
The new Trailblazer gets completely revised exterior styling. The SUV has a new bonnet profile with fresh bumpers front and back. The headlamp design has been changed and now features daytime-running lights. Moving to the side profile, the full-fledged SUV stance is further accentuated with the large multi-spoke alloy wheels and low profile tyres. Expect the Indian variant to sport alloy similar to the existing size of 18 inches. The step-up boards get an aluminium finish giving the Trailblazer a premium feel. At the back, the tail lamps have been re-styled, and there’s an LED third lamp and a floating roof spoiler.
In terms of motive power, the facelifted Chevrolet Trailblazer shares the same diesel engine used in the current version sold in India. The 2.8 litre Duramax turbo diesel engine produces 200PS of power and 500Nm of torque. However for the international market, the SUV is also offered in two petrol engine options. When launched in India, the facelifted Trailblazer will be offered only with a diesel option.
The current Chevrolet Trailblazer sold in India carries a price-tag of Rs 27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and competes against the likes of Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour in the SUV market.
