Tata has officially launched its new crossover MPV in India, the all-new Hexa. The new Tata Hexa will essentially be the replacement to the Tata Aria which although quite well equipped, was never really competitive mainly due to its price point. The new Hexa aims to change the perception while taking on cars like the Mahindra XUV500 and also the likes of the Hyundai Creta.
Although the Hexa still has hints of the Aria, the new and updated styling does give the car a much more aggressive look. For starters, the new grille and headlamps look great along with the wider wheel arches and new large 18-inch wheels. The glasshouse also gets a slight redesign with a new B-pillar and a new C-pillar design along with a redesign of the tailgate. The car also gets daytime running lights along with a plastic cladding along the side. The rear also gets a complete redesign with horizontally stacked tail lamps and twin exhausts on each side of the newly redesigned rear bumper.
The Tata Hexa gets the same 2.2-litre engine that came on the Aria. The engine makes a healthy 154PS of peak power and 400Nm of peak torque. The new Hexa comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox which in turn is mated to both a rear wheel drive and an all-wheel-drive drivetrain. The Tata Hexa will also get a limited slip differential.
On the interior front, the new Tata Hexa will get a Bolt/Zest inspired dashboard design with a large central infotainment touchscreen console. Tata has also gotten rid of the funky burgundy interior in favor of a more palatable black interior option. The new Hexa also gets body colored AC vents on the side while the central vents get a silver surround. The Tata Hexa will also get black leather interior and enough space to comfortably sit seven individuals.
