Rear disc brakes will now be available on all variants of Gixxer and Gixxer SF, while fuel-injection will be available only in the Gixxer SF-Fi MotoGP Edition

Suzuki Gixxer SF FI
The last couple of years have been quite eventful for Suzuki Motorcycles India Limited. The Gixxer turned the company fortunes around and as a consequence Suzuki registered record growth numbers. The SF only added fuel to the fire and the company even launched its own one make racing series. So to the best step ahead would’ve been to give the SF an update and that’s exactly what Suzuki has done by unveiling the fuel injected variant to the SF lineup called the SF Fi or the SF MotoGP Edition at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The SF Fi is powered by the same 155cc engine that does duty in the Gixxer naked motorcycle.  Since Suzuki wouldn’t state just how much the power and torque has increased thanks to fuel-injection, we reckon it is marginal. This move comes in at the right time for Suzuki as the Indian government has decided to impose stricter emission norms for two wheelers which requires newly launched bikes to comply to BSIV norms by April 2016. This works quite well in Suzuki’s favour as the new Fi system should bring down the CO2 emissions by quite a margin.

Along with the Fi system Suzuki has also equipped all variants of the Gixxer and Gixxer SF with a 240mm rear disc with single floating caliper to enhance the braking efficiency of an already capable motorcycle. Aesthetically, the bike looks identical to the current motorcycle, but both the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF will now be available in two new colours, making a total of three new colours.
