The 13th edition of the Delhi Auto Expo, slated to be organised in February, is set to witness a record number of launches with the footfalls also set to hit the roof this time around. Despite this, several major car brands are missing from the list of manufacturers participating in the event. Here’s a look at some of them:

Harley-Davidson

Harley-Davidson

Harley-Davidson launched the latest bike in its Sportster range on Friday, the Sportster 1200 Custom, which will replace the Sportster 883 in India. The Sportster 1200 Custom was priced at around Rs 9 lakh as it made a debut just days before the Auto Expo.

Himalayan

Royal Enfield

Given its large fan base in India, it came in as a real surprise when RE decided to stay away from the Auto Expo. This however does not mean that the popular motorcycle brand will stay out of action. The much-awaited Himalayan from the RE stables will be launched on February 2, hours before the Expo commences.

Bajaj V

Bajaj Auto

The Indian manufacturer from Chakan, which participates in several foreign motor shows, has decided give the local event a miss. But, just like Royal Enfield, Bajaj is also going to stage launches outside the confines of the Expo. The Bajaj V, which is made of metal salvaged from the legendary INS Vikrant warship, will be unveiled on February 1.

Skoda

Czech carmaker Skoda plans to bring a facelifted version of its executive sedan Superb to India soon, but it will remain absent from the motoring event. The car will be launched outside the pavilions in Noida.

Volvo S9

Volvo

Volvo India had announced late last year that it will launch a slew of new cars in 2016. This will include a brand new model, the upcoming and highly anticipated S90, along with sportier versions of current cars and some facelifts. Unfortunately, none of them would be seen at the Auto Expo.

Other cars and bikes

Others

While these brands will be missed by enthusiasts, there is more heartbreak in store for fans of high-end cars. Names like Porsche, Maserati, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bentley and Rolls Royce have also decided to stay away from the expo while superbike major Ducati is also among the absentees at the motoring event.
