Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

Cars from the house of Maruti Suzuki are always something to look forward to, and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza even more so considering that it’s a compact SUV. First unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo in the XA Alpha concept form, the project has finally come to life in the form of the new Vitara Brezza.

The Vitara Brezza is Maruti Suzuki’s first attempt at developing a compact SUV and it has been developed from the ground up. With this new sub-4 metre SUV, Maruti Suzuki aims at expanding on the Vitara brand that is already on sale in the international markets. The Vitara Brezza sports the kind of muscular yet sleek styling that you would expect out of a car in this class. The long flat bonnet leads into a gun metal finished grille, on either side of which are nice looking projector type headlamps. The dual tone exterior gives the car a floating roof design. At the sides the smart looking star shaped alloy wheels and the ORVMs that match the roof give it a youthful appeal.

With a wheelbase of 2500mm, and ground clearance of 198mm, the Vitara Brezza will offer  328 litres of boot space.

The Vitara Brezza will be launched in petrol as well as diesel variants. The compact SUV will sport the 1.4-litre K14B petrol unit that we have already experienced on the Eritiga. This unit produces 95PS of power and 130Nm of torque. In diesel form the car will be launched with the renowned 1.3-litre unit sourced from Fiat. This unit is good for 90PS and 200Nm. Both these engines come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Vitara Brezza will come heavily loaded with features including projector type headlamp with Daytime Running Lamps, skid plates up front, a floating roof design and roof coloured ORVMs. In terms of safety, all variants will come with ABS and EBD as standard. For the sake of convenience, Maruti Suzuki has also fitted the Vitara Brezza with the same Apply car play that made its debut in the Baleno, reversing camera with parking sensors, keyless entry, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers and more.

Third car to be sold via their new range of Nexa dealerships, the Vitara Brezza will be launched in 6 variants. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will go against the likes of the Ford EcoSport and the Mahindra TUV300. The Vitara Brezza is expected to be priced between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
